Pearl Jam – Alive

De band heette oorspronkelijk Mookie Blaylock, de bijnaam van een bekende basketballer. Het eerste album kreeg de naam Ten; het rugnummer van Mookie Blaylock. Alive is afkomstig van het album Ten. Pearl Jam valt onder het genre Grunge. Grunge kenmerkt zich door schrale gitaarmuziek en is in de jaren tachtig ontstaan in Seattle.
